Ye Slammed for Selling Copies of Hoodie Cassie Wore in 2016 Video of Diddy Assaulting Her
After expressing his support for Diddy in recent rants, Ye listed hoodies for sale on his website that appear to be identical to the one that Cassie wore when the music mogul was captured on film assaulting her in 2016.
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, shared a screenshot of the footage, which shows Cassie prior to Sean “Diddy” Combs attacking her in a hotel hallway. In another screenshot, Ye showcased a high quality picture of the hoodie, with the caption “THE LOVE HOODIE AVAILABLE NOW yeezy.com” referencing Diddy’s “Love” nickname.
Another post from Ye included the same screenshot from the 2016 video with the message, “You have to truly be in love to get to the point of risking everything.”
The post was heavily criticized and was flagged with a X Community Note that reads, “This is not love. This is Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs violently assaulting his girlfriend at the time, Cassie.”
This hoodie design isn’t new. It’s the same as the “So Help Me God” hoodie that Ye allegedly released back in 2015 for the scrapped album of the same name, with the “M” on the front being a 13th-century monogram representing the Virgin Mary. The same design was used in 2016 as the cover for Ye’s song “All Day.”
Regardless of when it was released, resurfacing and promoting the hoodie in the context of Cassie’s abuse has led to backlash for Ye on social media.
Ye’s post is the latest in a series of offensive messages taken from his recent rants on X. A couple of days ago, he expressed his support for Adolf Hitler.
“I LOVE HITLER,” he said in a post, before adding in another, “I CAN SAY JEW AS MUCH AS I WANT I CAN SAY HITLER AS MUCH AS I WANT MATTER FACT I DO SAY IT WHEN I WANT.”
Ye also addressed his collaborators, speaking out against the late Virgil Abloh while also praising his often enemy, Drake.
“I LOVE TRAV VIRGIL AND DRAKE DRAKE THE REALEST ONE OF THOSE THREE THOUGH HE NOT FAKE COOL HE’S JUST TALENTED AF,” wrote Ye. “AND YES ITS FUCK VIRGIL AND ANY OF THESE OTHER [N***AS] THAT WORKED FOR ME THAN USED ME THEN WENT AGAINST ME I LOVE VIRGIL AND HE USED THAT VERY LOVE TO BEAT NIGERIANS ARE SUPER SMART.”
On the topic of his wife Bianca Censori’s nearly nude ensemble at the Grammys, Ye spoke about having “dominion” over his wife on X.
“THIS AINT NO WOKE AS FEMINIST SHIT SHES WITH A BILLIONAIRE WHY WOULD SHE LISTEN TO ANY OF YOU DUMB ASS BROKE BITCHES,” he wrote. “PEOPLE SAY THE RED CARPET LOOK WAS HER DECISION YES I DON’T MAKE HER DO NOTHING SHE DOESN’T WANT TO BUT SHE DEFINITELY WOULDNT HAVE BEN ABLE TO DO IT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL YOU STUPID ASS WOKE PAWNS.”
