Lil Yachty Apologizes to Nicki Minaj and Cardi B for Getting Involved in Their Feud

Lil Yachty regrets getting involved in Nicki Minaj and Cardi B’s feud.

While speaking to Shannon Sharpe for his Club Shay Shay podcast, Yachty reflected on the comments he made in 2018, saying he would turn down a collaboration with Minaj due to his ties with Cardi and Offset.

“I respect both of these women, right? Aside from the differences—and I think they are both very talented women in the industry who have, rightfully so, are on their way to the top,” said Yachty at the two-hour and 20-minute mark in the video linked above.

“And to be honest, I really just—I hated that I even answered that question because I kind of just inserted myself in something I had nothing to do with,” he added.

Yachty’s comments at the time led him to get blocked by the Pink Friday 2 rapper. He confirmed to Sharpe he’s still blocked despite multiple apologies and attempts to reconcile. He also denied asking Drake to step in to ask Nicki to unblock him.

Sharpe then pointed out the beef between certain women in hip-hop, referencing Minaj’s past disputes with Megan Thee Stallion and Remy Ma.

“I don’t know, I love them all,” Yachty said before praising the current wave of female rappers, including Sexyy Red, Doechii, and GloRilla.

“GloRilla is just thriving at the highest level,” Yachty gushed. “She’s sick, she’s authentic. She’s herself … She ain’t trying to be nothing else and she got that energy, man.”

Sharpe couldn’t move on from the conversation without bringing up the Barbs, Minaj’s loyal and passionate fanbase.

“Them Barbs was on your head though … and you got some DMs then. I bet you saw those,” Unc said.

“And the craziest thing is that I was a part of the Barbs. I love Nicki, bro. I still do,” said Yachty. “I was young and I inserted myself in some shit I really ain’t had no business doing.”

“So again, it was an apology to Cardi,” he added before correcting himself. “To Nicki and to Cardi, because Cardi … didn’t say, ‘Go out there and speak for me.’ She didn’t. So I apologize to all that, and I tell you, I’ll never put myself in no shit ever again, I swear to God.”
