Trey Songz Ordered to Pay Cop $11 Million in Damages Because He Failed to Respond to Lawsuit
A Las Vegas judge has ordered Trey Songz to fork up millions linked to a battery case from 2023.
TMZ reports that Songz has to pay $11 million in damages to Tyrelle Dunn, who previously claimed that Songz and his security attacked him while he was trying to save his wife from Songz’s Vegas hotel room in 2021.
The incident happened around Songz’s birthday in November 2021, when he allegedly invited a group of women to his hotel room at The Cosmopolitan. Dunn later claimed in his lawsuit that his wife was in duress and yelled for help because she was being held against her will.
Songz and his security allegedly assaulted the Maryland Capitol police officer when he attempted to rescue his wife. In the filing, Dunn said that the altercation resulted in numerous injuries, including fractured eye sockets and scarring, and he had to miss work. The money will cover Dunn’s medical expenses, pain and suffering, and punitive damages.
In April 2022, Songz was found not guilty in the criminal case; Dunn subsequently sued the singer. The default judgment against Songz resulted from his failure to respond to the lawsuit.
