Premiere: Stepz’s Kai Cenat-Approved Hit, “Rock”, Gets The Visual Treatment
Stepz, the 22-year-old British rapper who made our ones to watch list last year, has been going viral with every drop since 2022’s “Pacman” with Fizzler.
Alongside his hilarious skits, the South-East Londoner’s music has had TikTok in a chokehold, with his cheerfully-delivered bars about everything from purpose to entrepreneurship giving his age-mates something other than grills and German whips to be inspired by.
Not forgetting the dance challenges that often go along with it: new single “Rock”, for example, has been trending on TikTok ever since it was released last month, with thousands around the world seen rockin’ out with their air guitars. Stepz’s favourite streamer, Kai Cenat, is also a fan.
The official music video for “Rock” arrives today, exclusively with Complex UK. Directed by Kevin Hudson, we see Stepz at a sold-out headline show of his, guitar in-hand, where he gives his fans a clearly enjoyable performance.
“Staying true to myself is important as I try to take over America in a fun, authentic way,” Stepz tells Complex. “I’m doing it without compromising my music or my identity. Today, I’m excited to finally share the visuals that bring ‘Rock’ to life. This music video will give you an insight into what I can do and what I plan to continue doing. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.”
