Watch Usher Bring out Tyrese for Surprise Performance of “Sweet Lady”
Tyrese joined Usher on stage at a recent show and shared the thrilling story about how it came to life on X.
The morning after the show, Tyrese posted a long thread detailing what happened. “I just woke up and I’m still trying to come down off of the high of likely having specifically one of best night of my life in R&B,” he tweeted
Tyrese continued, revealing that he got a call from Johnta Austin who said that Usher wanted to invite him to the show, an invite that Tyrese eagerly accepted. Tyrese then explained that the day before the show, he learned that he’d be getting on stage.
“So then the day before the show, I get a call from Johnta again who says do you remember any of the steps from the video and the song MY WAY?????? I’m so confused 🤔 because all I thought Chante was offering me was concert tickets to see Usher kill it on stage lol 😆 Mr. Austin, why are you asking me about dancing and the song MY WAY???” Tyrese explained.
“Fast-forward? This happened! Usher Raymond, sir I’m humble and grateful my heart is so full,” he added. “Thank you for allowing little me to share in your ATL moment.!”
In the video, a clearly jubilant Tyrese is seen holding Usher’s shoulder while singing “How You Gonna Act Like That.”
Prior to Usher’s show in Atlanta, the legendary singer spoke at an event in the city in which he encouraged the audience to vote early and also made it clear how important this election is. “It’s just 17 days away from a very important election,” Usher said. “And we have the opportunity to choose a new generation of leadership for our country.”
After telling the audience how much he loves Kamala Harris, he explained it’s “because she fights for everyone’s rights, for freedom, and it doesn’t matter where you from. She has a vision for our country that includes everyone, a vision that supports small businesses, invests in our health, in our communities, and gives everyone a chance to get ahead.”
