Ye’s ‘Bully’ Album Reportedly Produced Exclusively by Him

Ye’s new album, Bully, will reportedly be solely produced by him.

Veteran music journalist Touré revealed in his newsletter that Ye—formerly know as Kanye West— is working on the new album and will be living in a Tokyo hotel for an undisclosed amount of time. A source close to him reportedly said about the LP: “This album is 100% him. He’s producing everything 100% himself. This will be 100% Kanye West, which it hasn’t been in many, many years.”

Touré also claims that Bully will be a concept album and that Ye is working on it in a hotel room — not a recording studio.

Late last month, Ye announced Bully in front of a massive crowd at a show in China. At the same time, he also performed a new song that’ll presumably appear on the project: “Beauty and the Beast.”

Soon after announcing the LP, he posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, “BULLY”—seemingly letting the world know that this new album is the real deal and not one of the projects he announces and never drops (Yandhi, TurboGrafx 16, the list goes on).

If Bully comes out within the next few months, Ye will become one of the hardest-working rappers in the game. It’ll be his third new album of the year following the first two Vulture installments that he dropped with Ty Dolla Sign. There’s supposed to be a third volume to come out soon too but that may change now that we’re officially in Ye’s Bully era.

So what’s the name mean?

Knowing Ye, it could be anything. But if we were to take it at its most literal meaning, it would be a word that Ye’s been called over the years—whether from interrupting Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs or because he screams at paparazzi like parents do to umpires at Little League baseball games.
