Drake Suggests He Put Money Up for Young Thug’s RICO Case: ‘I Ain’t Talking to Talk’
Drake still has love for Young Thug.
Just days after giving a speech on disloyal friends, the OVO rapper returned to Instagram to express support for the incarcerated Thugger. In an IG Story post, Drake was rocking pieces from Thug’s Sp5der brand and included the caption: “I ain’t talking to talk man I really put up [bread emoji] on the [briefcase emoji] 3 Jeff.”

Although it wasn’t exactly a confirmation, Drake’s message suggested he had covered some of the costs for Thug’s ongoing racketeering case. The ATL rapper has remained behind bars since May 2022 as he faces multiple charges for alleged gang activity. After a 10-month jury selection, the trial kicked off in November 2023 and would become the longest criminal trial in Georgia’s history.
Since then, Drizzy has consistently used his platform to support Thug and has even called for his freedom on multiple tracks: “Free Big Slime out the cage,” he rapped on the Honestly, Nevermind cut “Sticky.” Drake also publicly criticized Fulton County Judge Ural Glanville, who oversaw the YSL RICO trial before being replaced by Judge Paige Reese Whitaker.
Years before his incarceration, Thug—whose name is Jeffery Lamar Williams—joined Drake’s Boy Meets World Tour. He touched on the opportunity in a February 2017 Instagram post in which he referred to his collaborator as one of the “realest rappers” he knows.
