Cimo Fränkel Gets Candid In Latest Single “Closed The Door”
Amsterdam-born artist, Cimo Fränkel, released the electro-pop track “Closed The Door” on 11th of November via Cimo Fränkel / AWAL. The platinum-certified singer-songwriter reveals that the follow-up to “Go Your Own Way” and “Where Do You Hide Your Love” is about “a relationship coming to an end. It’s about being courageous enough to speak up and accepting the consequences of making the decision that it’s over.”
Cimo Fränkel wants to make up excuses no more. In the lyrics, he frankly opens up about his feelings and admits, “I thought that I could spare your feelings/ I said we had a future/ That all will be alright over time/ Saying words I thought you needed/ I’ve been running round scared and I/ Knew it wasn’t gonna last another month/But at the end I gotta tell you/ I think I finally gotta man up/ I ain’t scared to let you go (I promise)/ Not afraid to tell you so, I wanted to do it long ago/ I should’ve closed the door.”

Growing up with his father, a funk musician, Cimo Fränkel was introduced to music at a very young age. Influenced by megastars like Michael Jackson, Huey Lewis, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Frank Ocean, and Tate McRae, the “Closed The Door” singer incorporates different genre elements to produce a unique sound.
