Kenny Muney Releases ‘Time is Muney’ Project And Video for “Worthless”
With his unassuming swagger and endless arsenal of bars, Kenny Muney has become a fixture in a Memphis scene on the rise. Returning to prove that he’s a name worthy of national note, the Paper Route Empire rapper releases his new album, Time Is Muney, out now. Over 15 tracks, Kenny Muney bolsters his braggadocio as he locks his flows onto each booming instrumental with a heat-seeking missile’s precision.
The project is home to Muney’s recent single, “Backend Freestyle,” a flex heavy track that allowed Muney to reintroduce himself to fans, both new and old. Demonstrating his ability to switch gears from track to track, Kenny pledges allegiance to the grind on the bass bumping banger, “No Days Off,” while the Memphis rapper slows it and reckons with his past on the humble guitar-led track, “See The Light.” On album highlight “Leeches,” Kenny turns up the tempo, delivering spitfire flows and receiving one of Paper Route Empire label mate Key Glock’s best feature verses to date. Putting forth his romantic side on the R&B infused, Dreezy-assisted, “Nobody,” Muney comes from a place of love, confessing: “I ain’t never felt like this ‘bout nobody.” With an additional appearance from fellow PRE signee Big Moochie Grape, Time Is Muney is available everywhere via Paper Route Empire.
Along with the album, Kenny shares the music video for project highlight, “Worthless.” The track’s tequila-fueled visuals sees Muney and company climb aboard a yacht and set sail for some fun in the sun, bringing along all the essentials: Casamigos by the case, wings by the tray, and money stacked higher than their red cups. “Worthless” exhibits the effortlessness of Kenny’s swagger, an attitude that echoes his equally locked-in and unbothered approach to music.
In the run up to Time Is Muney, the follow-up to 2019’s Muney Talk, the Paper Route Empire signee kept himself busy in 2021 by releasing multiple singles, including “Lowkey,” “For Kenny,” “Long Time Coming,” and “Poppin It.” This past July, Paper Route Empire released their first ever compilation mixtape, PAPER ROUTE iLLUMINATi, which heavily featured Young Dolph, Key Glock, and Kenny Muney among other label members. Most recently, Kenny memorialized Dolph with “Role Model,” a touching tribute to Dolph which racked up over 1.7 million views on YouTube in its first two weeks, and appears on Time Is Muney, as well as the recent Paper Route Empire Presents: Long Live Dolph mixtape.
With Time is Muney, Kenny Muney shows that he has the talent and determination to succeed in the Empire-building business. Stay tuned for more from Kenny Muney and Paper Route Empire.
