Young Dolph Shot and Killed in Memphis: Report
The rapper Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis Wednesday, Nov. 17, law enforcement sources confirmed to two local news outlets, Fox13 and WREG.
The shooting reportedly took place at a bakery, with the owner, Maurice Hill, saying Young Dolph — real name Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr. — walked into the store to buy some cookies when someone drove up, shot and killed him.
The Memphis Police Department confirmed the shooting and that one person was killed, but did not publicly identify the victim. “Officers are on the scene of a shooting at 2370 Airways,” MPD wrote on Twitter. “One male victim was located and was pronounced dead. No suspect info is available at this time. The victim will be identified once the next of kin notification has been completed.”

Rolling Stone has reached out to the Memphis Police Department for comment. Representatives for Young Dolph also did not immediately return a request for comment.
