The Weeknd Kicked Off The 2020 MTV VMA’s!

The socially distanced/virtual 202 MTV VMA’s was kicked off by The Weeknd – who is nominated for six awards tonight! Despite no audience, The Weeknd put on an electrifying performance nonetheless as he performed high up in the NYC skyline – literally at the Edge in Hudson Yards. And what better way to accompany the lyrics of his single “Blinding Lights” than with a display of fireworks in the background with the city as the backdrop. 

The Weeknd is nominated for six awards including two of the biggest: Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for “Blinding Lights.”
