5 Things We Want to See From Nicki Minaj on 'SNL'

Nicki Minaj is gearing up for her highly anticipated appearance on Saturday Night Live, where she will hit the stage as the official musical guest for the third time in her decorated career on May 19.

She teams up with SNL veteran Tina Fey, who has been tapped to host for the sixth time, closing out season 43. The pair are preparing to shoot a feature film possibly titled Get Ya Life Ugly shortly after their Saturday Night Live stint, according to Nicki.

Fans are counting down the days until the 35-year-old unleashes her latest LP, Queen, on June 15. Minaj's SNL cameo marks the beginning of her album rollout process as we're only about four weeks out from release day. June has the chance to be a historic month in hip-hop with Kanye West, Drake, and Nas also dropping projects.

The Queens native had previously teased the idea of presenting new music during her set but has since recanted on those statements. Answering some fan questions during the week (May 14), Onika unveiled that she would be performing "Chun-Li" but could have some surprises in store regarding her upcoming album.

Check out the episode's teaser below. Here are 5 things we want to see from Nicki on Saturday Night Live.

Share Queen's Album Cover

Nicki shut down hip-hop when she delivered "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz" back on April 12, thus setting the stage for her fourth studio album. She actually shared the title to Queen during a red carpet interview at the elegant Met Gala earlier this month. The 35-year-old appeared on the cover of her first two LPs and we expect that to be the case again. Can't you see Minaj donning the hip-hop crown for her latest artwork?

When asked if fans would be getting any sort of surprises, Nicki replied on Twitter with a vague response hinting that a change of plans due to things out of her control may have squashed any hope of new ventures. "To be honest], that was the original plan. But we had to change it due to some technical stuff out of my control. But trust the process. It’ll end up benefiting u guys more in the long run with] the new plan. You trust me," she wrote.

Preview Plot to New Movie With Tina Fey

As Minaj makes her triumphant return to the famed series, she couldn't contain her excitement about pairing up with Tina Fey in a recent Instagram post. "@NBCSNL SEASON FINALE W|THE ONE & ONLY TINA FKN FEY. GOTTA BE FKN KIDDING ME. OMG. SHE & I are shooting our movie after Saturday’s show airs. Yikesssssssssssss. Get ya whole fkn LIFE HOES!!!! In fact, that’s the name of the movie. #GetYaWholeFknLifeHoes sike. It’s called #GetYaLifeUgly," she penned.

This move could entirely be a classic troll by Nicki, but if true, would definitely be an epic moment. Tina and the Young Money artist should continue to tease their collaboration and provide some clarity tonight as to exactly what Minaj meant. There's a possibility the two could be crafting a visual depiction to release alongside the "Super Bass" artist's upcoming album, Queen. Either way, we need some answers, Nicki.

Clear the Air Regarding "Feud" With Cardi B

Cardi B and Minaj had engaged in a public back and forth throughout 2018, which was finally put to rest during a noteworthy moment the duo shared at the Met Gala on May 7. Bardi discussed the interaction during a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show.

“I never was feuding with anybody. There was a misunderstanding. She felt a certain type of way about something and I definitely felt a certain type of way about something."Didn’t want to ever talk about it in public because I felt like we gonna see each other again and we will talk about it," the Bronx native explained. "It’s always little issues but the thing is, fans are always gonna make it a big thing. I spoke to her about it. It’s just like, see? It was just something that it had to be talked about."

Here is the perfect chance for the "Pound the Alarm" rapper to have some fun with the lighthearted conversation in a skit remaking what transpired that night. At the very least, Nicki could clear the air as to what happened and publicly unite the top women of hip-hop.

Continue her Tradition of Exotic Designer Outfits

Nicki prides herself on being one of the premier fashion icons in not only music but the entire world. The versatile style muse has become a staple in the front row at various fashion shows throughout the year. Whether it's rocking exclusive spring 2018 Fendi pieces on the "Chun-Li" artwork or donning a lavish Oscar de la Renta red dress at this year's Met Gala, the songstress rarely, if ever, disappoints with her wardrobe choices.

For her latest SNL cameo, she assisted The Weeknd's 2015 performance of "The Hills (Nicki Minaj Remix)" where she blessed fans with a smooth assist while wearing a sheer purple and red Balmain dress that was partially see-through. Let's see what extravagant outfits Minaj has in store for us tonight.

Star as Meghan Markle in Royal Wedding Skit

Nicki's impersonations have been on point in previous SNL skits where she'd portray everyone from Kim Kardashian to Beyonce. The Royal Wedding has been the talk of what seems the world this week, as Prince Harry and former American actress Meghan Markle tied the knot at the United Kingdom's Windsor Castle Saturday morning (May 19). Let's see Minaj star as Markle in a possible skit surrounding the wedding. I'd bet she boasts a far better British accent than the new Duchess of Sussex as well.

Be sure to tune in tonight at 11:35 p.m. EST on NBC. Enjoy the show!
