2 Chainz Recruits Amerie to Power ‘Rule the World’ Performance On ‘Ellen’: Watch

2 Chainz had to do some reshuffling ahead of his Wednesday (May 29) appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The ATL rapper called on Amerie to fill in for Ariana Grande for his "Rule the World" performance, and Amerie proved to be more than capable.

Chainz and his DJ hit the stage atop a yellow milk crate, and it was off to the races.

Notably, Amerie delivered her first television performance in quite a few years; the Grammy-nominated singer was a fitting choice, as "Rule the World" actually samples her 2002 track, "Why Don't We Fall In Love."

The Rap or Go to the League artist showed Amerie some love on IG with a comical photo of the duo with her baby boy, River Rowe, following the performance. "Hahaha 1 luv @Ameriie. I appreciate you lending me a helping hand for @TheEllenShow !! Congrats on the little guy I can't imagine what he was thinking in this pic hahaha #raporgototheleague," Chainz wrote.
