With Pitchfork's Music Festival set to take place in Chicago later this week, Earl Sweatshirt fans won't be pleased to hear about the latest news regarding the "Couch" MC. According to Pitchfork, Sweatshirt will miss his performance on Friday (July 20) and will be replaced by rising singer Tierra Whack.
Due to the late addition, set times have shifted. Whack will perform 4:15 on the Green Stage on Friday, while Saba will play on the Red Stage at 5:15. Syd of The Internet will grace the Green Stage at 6:15.
Last month, Sweatshirt canceled his European tour hours before he was slated to perform at Field Day in London. In a statement released by Sweatshirt's reps, they cited anxiety and depression as the culprits in his decision to axe the dates. "Earl is battling anxiety and depression which has been compounded by the grief from the recent passing of his father," read the statement. "He thought he would be ready to perform but simply is not yet able to. He would like to apologize to his fans and promises to be back as soon as he is able to."
Billboard reached out to Sweatshirt's reps for comment.
