Migos' Platinum-certified smash hit “Bad and Boujee” is no longer sitting at the top the Billboard Hot 100—it's currently parked in the No. 18 position in its 23rd week on the chart—but the song's massive popularity has resulted in the Atlanta trio wrangling up their first album certification.
According to their label home, 300 Entertainment, the group's sophomore album C U L T U R E has been certified Platinum by the RIAA for sales in excess 1 million copies a mere 82 days after its release on January 27.
The Platinum certification for C U L T U R E is the fifth Migos' four-year career, following Gold-certified singles “Fight Night,” “Versace” and “T-Shirt,” as well as the aforementioned “Bad and Boujee” with Lil Uzi Vert.
“Thank you fans for making Culture Platinum,” wrote the group in an Instagram post.
Considering how poorly Migos' 2015 debut album Yung Rich Nation performed upon release, selling only 14,000 first week copies, the group and their multiple label homes have to be pleasantly surprised at their remarkable turnaround.
