Florida natives Lil Pump and Smokepurpp shared the Lit Up Festival stage in Miami, Fla. for a joint performance Saturday night (July 28). About halfway through their set, XXXTentacion's "SAD!" began to boom through the venue's speakers. The slain rapper's mother Cleopatra Bernard then joined the artists on stage, making for a touching moment.
Bernard emotionally embraced Smokepurpp as the crowd belted out every word to her late son's 2018 smash hit. She even threw up an "X" with her arms crossed in his honor. "Sing this shit," Pump screamed. The "Audi" rapper properly culminated the performance paying tribute to his fallen friend. "Rest in peace, X. We love you, man," he said.
Just last week (July 25), Robert Allen was the third suspect arrested in rural Georgia in connection with the murder of XXXTentacion on June 18, where X was fatally shot during an armed robbery in Deerfield Beach, Fla. Allen is now in custody alongside Dedrick Williams and Michael Boatright. The fourth suspect, Trayvon Newsome, remains at large. All four were indicted by a grand jury earlier in July on first-degree murder and armed robbery charges.
