Kay Lei Can't Escape Her Toxic Past in New 'Dysfunctional' Watch

With Kay Lei continuing to work toward the release of her 9 EP, she drops off another appetizer to increase hype surrounding the project with "Dysfunctional" on Friday (Sept. 14). The therapeutic single also arrived with a coinciding cinematic visual, depicting a debilitating relationship of her past.

The clip finds the Boston-bred artist unable to break the cycle as she repeatedly finds solace in returning to her toxic love interest, even though she recognizes the downside of them being together. "I'd rather be, rather be dead here with you/ Rather be, rather be messed up with you," she somberly sings over the pensive chorus.

The teen sensation has garnered a significant buzz around the industry following the release of her previous single "No Apologies" in August, which has accumulated over 500,000 views on YouTube in less than a month. Lei's upcoming EP is slated to release on Sept. 28 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes.
