Gorillaz recently announced their first North American show in years, getting added to the 2017 Festival d’Été de Quebec lineup — and now the virtual band and their crew high-prile musical pals have unveiled a complete upcoming tour.
Following the band’s own Demon Dayz Festival in the UK, they will cross the Atlantic to kick f North American shows in Chicago on July 8. As it currently stands, the group’s only other Canadian date will happen on July 10 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. As previously reported, Gorillaz will play Festival d’Été on July 15.
Other festival appearances added to the band’s itinerary include stops at Outside Lands, the Meadows, Life Is Beautiful, and III Points Festival, as well as performances at Valley Rock Music & Arts Festival in Icheon, South Korea and Fuji Rock Festival in Niigata, Japan.
After returning to North America, the lengthy tour run will wrap up entirely on October 15 in Miami. See the full list shows below.
A list guest performers hasn’t been confirmed for the upcoming shows, though a press release does hint that there will be a “stellar lineup featured artists” playing cuts from across Gorillaz’s catalogue — including “such possibilities as Jehnny Beth (Savages), Danny Brown, Benjamin Clementine, De La Soul, D.R.A.M., Peven Everett, Anthony Hamilton, Grace Jones, Zebra Katz, Kelela, Mavis Staples, Vince Staples, Popcaan, Pusha T, Jamie Principle and Kali Uchis, among others.”
Tickets for majority the newly added dates go on sale this Friday (April 21). When purchasing tickets, fans will be given the choice either a standard physical or digital copy the band’s forthcoming album Humanz. The LP, course, is set to arrive on April 28 Parlophone.
